Still tossing out some fun creativity tips:

The theory is you grab some random word out of the dicitonary, something completely silly or what ever. Write it down and then everything it makes you think of, all the silly things that come to mind. There is a chance and one worth taking, that this restriction can unlock some serious creativity.

I think this was the first time I tried this character, it was a fun family portrait. I had hoped to use these characters in a video, looks like we have a client that has a similar character we will be using!

Mater's Monday

Construction drawing!

Just the other day I watched a video from the School of Visual Storytelling and was able to solidify a few concepts that I have been struggling with for ever. Check it out: How to draw everything by Jake Parker

Pirates are cool!

I love the idea of the pirate but I don't think I would like to actually do it, I don't like the idea of my teeth falling out from rot and bad nutrition! 

Thumbnails

Finally feeling like I am in control of what a thumbnail is and how to work this with my art director/boss. He is great to work with and I am looking forward to more work every day!

Mr. Will

I took the challenge from a friend to copy 'Mater's' work and I choose Will Terry as one of my illustration inspirations. I am working on learning his technique of applying paint in a dry brush approach. The first several paintings will be exact or as exact as I can copies of his work trying to learn from him. As I develop within the technique I plan to explore the application within my own design and compositions.
